Free Recycling Guidance Workshops Available Nationwide!

Many of us are confused about what can and cannot be recycled in our recycling bins.  Recycling symbols, varied messages and different coloured bins have all contributed to this confusion. This means we don’t always know what is recyclable and what is not.

VOICE Ireland’s Recycling Ambassador Programme was launched on November 29th, 2017 by Minister Denis Naughten with a new and clearer message about what you can now recycle in your household recycling bin in Ireland. The programme is delivering free interactive workshops to groups and at local events sharing the information face to face with the public. It will be backed up by an ad campaign and the same clear message from bin companies.

The innovative VOICE part of the programme is funded by the Department of Communications, Climate Action and Environment (DCCAE) and REPAK, and is also supported by the Regional Waste Offices. The aim is to support people directly to improve Ireland’s recycling rates and reduce levels of contamination in household recycling bins.

The workshops can be delivered to community groups, sports associations, non-profits, civic organisations, businesses, local agencies, farming groups, or any gathering of a group of approximately 25 or more adults.  The full workshop demonstration with Q & A lasts for 45 – 60 minutes, but can also be delivered in shorter format.

Don’t miss this opportunity to learn how to get your recycling bin sorted.

VOICE ask that if you are active on social media and feel you have understood and acted on the new recycling message to please take and share a fun photograph of yourself and your recycling bin and tag it #binsorted .

If you have an event already scheduled, they would love to participate and deliver the interactive workshop. Please get in touch with the regional liaison officer for your area.
